Description
Called evergreen privet for its ability to hold its leaves well into winter. Dense robust growth habit that makes it very suitable as a clipped hedge. Blooms with white flowers in June. Cut twice a year and can withstand heavy pruning. Very popular and one of our most commonly cut hedges. It thrives in most soils and does well in sun/semi-shade. In shadier locations, it may become slightly sparser. The season for bare root hedges is from March to about midsummer and October to December. Bare-root hedge plants should not be planted during the summer when the weather is too hot and sunny and they will not be able to establish themselves. If you want to plant during the summer, choose a potted hedge instead. Note that the pictures are of fully grown specimens.
