Perennial. Anise-scented floccose plant with white flowers.
Vigorously growing herb. The leaves are reminiscent of chervil. The flowers are used in fruit soups and as a spice in jams and schnapps. The green unripe seeds have a lovely aniseed-like flavor and are great in salads, desserts or fruit porridge - both as a sweetener and flavoring. Good for the control of cabbage. Propagates only by seeds and is therefore easy to control. Thrives in partial shade in a moist location in porous, humus and nutrient-rich soil. The seeds must experience a cold period in order to germinate. Germination is irregular. After sowing, the soil is kept moist until germination has started properly.
