Called turnip or fall turnip.
White turnip with reddish-purple top. Used raw, grated for raw vegetables, fried, sautéed, steamed or baked. Turnips can be sown in early spring and should be harvested when they have reached a size of 5-6 cm in diameter, otherwise the taste can be strong and bitter. It is important that the plants are not short of water during growth. Can be reseeded in late summer. Does not tolerate frost. Thrives in sun to partial shade in weed-free, not too heavy or heavily fertilized soil. Watered during dry periods.
