The ripe onion has a mild flavor with sweetness. Can also be harvested early and enjoyed as a spring onion. Water in case of drought. The onion will have a nice pink skin and white flesh. When the leaves begin to wilt, the onions are harvested and dried. Then store in a dry place. Place in a sunny position in deep, porous, humus-rich soil. Keep the soil moist after sowing until germination has started. Does not tolerate standing water.
