Autumn leek is a popular and easy-to-grow vegetable. The variety is vigorous and suitable for fall harvest. It has a thick neck with dark green leaves. Cut the plants for long white throats. Thrives in well-fertilized, loamy, moisture-containing soil, preferably calcareous. Sow indoors, sparsely in seed boxes, Feb to April. Make it bright. Water and fertilize. Plant out when the risk of frost is over and the plants are about 15 cm tall.
