Sand mustard gets very prickly leaves. Tastes great with milder varieties of lettuce. The young, green leaves are harvested shortly before flowering. Can be sown in pots, window boxes, greenhouses or directly in the field. Can be grown indoors in a pot all year round. This gives the leaves a milder taste. It can also be sown in late summer and comes with double protection, e.g., in the spring. in a hotbed in a greenhouse, be able to produce leaves throughout the winter. Place in sun to semi-shade in nutritious, loose and porous soil. Does not tolerate standing water. Keep the soil moist after sowing until germination has started.
