Purslane is an heirloom plant grown since medieval times. The leaves are rich in omega 3 and vitamin E. The mildly tart leaves are used like spinach, in soups or in salads. Can also be frozen after parboiling. Harvest leaves and tender stalks gradually. Leave a few leaves at the plant base and it will grow back. Thrives in fertile, humus-rich and loose soil in warm spots. Keep the soil moist.
