Vert de Cambrai winter lettuce is a very cold-resistant type of lettuce, suitable for fall and winter harvesting. Pick leaves as you go or cut off the whole plant. Can be grown in a bench with sowing in the fall for very early spring harvest the following year. It has very good taste and the plants can be frozen and thawed a few times. Eaten fresh as a salad or served as spinach. Thrives in a loamy, moisture retentive and well-drained soil. Water regularly. Avoid watering the leaves of the plant, as it is susceptible to gray mold and mildew. Winterize if possible.
