A juicy and tasty variety. The root is purple in color closest to the leaf attachment. Good with gratins and mashed potatoes. Very nutritious. Sowing: Direct sowing at the end of May-June. Can be broadcasted indoors 2-3 weeks before planting. Thrives on well-fertilized, loamy clay soil. Turnips for winter use and storage can also be sown in July. Cover the seedling with fiber cloth to protect it from the cabbage fly. Take off after 4-6 weeks.
