Solboll billy buttons is a herbaceous perennial plant that is only grown as an annual. Grows up to 50-70 cm high, mounded. The flowers are globular, yellow, 2.5-3 cm in diameter. Blooms from July to October. Used in dried flower arrangements, dried stems with flowers remain firm and do not lose their bright yellow color, and are also called "drumsticks" by florists. Prefers fertile, moist, permeable soils.
