Colourful and popular summer flower in yellow, orange and red hues. The foliage is green with white stripes. Nice in a hanging pot, window box, against a trellis or as a ground cover. The flowers are edible, ornamental in salads. Thrives in infertile and well-drained soil. If the soil is too fertile, the leaves grow too much at the flowers expense. Water regularly. Soak the seeds in lukewarm water for 24 hours before sowing.
