Also known as Mexican tarragon. Thrives in beds, pots and window boxes. Leaves and flowers have a lovely aniseed scent. Gets slightly prickly leaves that can be used in marinades, sauces, with fish, chicken and lamb. Also used in desserts - wherever a hint of licorice is appropriate. The plant can be overwintered frost-free, e.g.. on the window sill in the kitchen, where you can cut off leaves throughout the winter. Thrives in sun to partial shade in nutritious and well-drained soil. Keep the soil moist after sowing until germination has started.
