Pollen and nectar attract a wide range of beneficial insects, such as ladybirds, leatherjackets, fly beetles, flower flies, gold flies, parasitic flies and the parasitic wasp. The larvae of these beneficial insects will hunt day and night for lice, whiteflies, snail eggs, scale insects and moths. The mixture is sown in a sunny spot in nutrient-poor soil. Leave the flowering parts of the plant until after the winter as the beneficial insects overwinter in them. Sow in rows. Keep the soil moist after sowing until germination has started.
