7 Pod Jonah Chili seeds

Information: 7 pod chilies (also known as 7 pot chilies) are some of the hottest chilies in the world and on the same high level as bhut jolokia or Trinidad Scorpion. It gets its name from the idea that just one pepper is enough to spice up 7 full pans (tubs).

7 Pod Jonah is slightly larger than 7 Pod Red and the fruits also grow to be slightly larger. The fruits have a similar shape to habanero peppers, although they have a more uneven surface. They ripen from lime green to orange and finally red and they have an aromatic fruity flavor, again similar to that of habanero chilies. Thanks to the thin outer walls, these peppers can be dried well and ground into a powder.

Grow 7 Pod Jonah Chili seeds

The germination temperature is between 24°C and 30°C (germination period: 10-22 days); it is therefore recommended to use a greenhouse and a heating mat . The plants need healthy, well-fertilized, permeable soil and cannot tolerate standing in water. They should be planted in a sunny, sheltered spot with at least 6 hours of sunlight - preferably more. Since the plants have a particularly long ripening time, it is recommended to grow them in a pot, so that you can easily bring the plant inside when the temperature drops below 12°C during the day, allowing all the fruits to ripen. To keep the plant over the winter, cut it down by 20 cm after harvesting and place it in a bright place where the temperature is at least 15°C.
