An oblong beetroot suitable for storage. Produces high yields of translucent beets with no "rings" in the color. Excellent to slice for pickling because of its oblong shape. The young leaves can be used in the same way as chard. So not too early! The plants may flower if exposed to spring frosts. They do not produce a harvest. Thrives in nutrient-rich, loamy and moisture-retentive soil. Thinning early. Loosen the soil around the plants. Fertilize with potassium-rich fertilizers.
