Cucumber Pony is a very early and very fertile variety. A self-pollinating hybrid. Grow in pots on open balconies or in greenhouses. The cucumbers are green and smooth, 12-14 cm long and weigh 100-190 grams. They are not bitter, very tasty and have a fine texture.
Cucumber Pony can be picked when the fruits are 10 cm long. The hybrid is resistant to fungal and viral diseases: Cucumber mosaic virus (CMV), powdery mildew, spotted wilt (Ccu).
Optimal temperature for seed germination is +27-28 ºC. 1-2 seeds are sown in each pot, the strongest plant is later planted out in a permanent location. Cucumber plants grow within 25-30 days. Growing seedlings in February requires extra light.
1 m2 holds 1-2 plants.
10 seeds cover an area of 5-8 m2; estimated harvest under favorable growing conditions is 35-45 kg.
