The Tennessee Teardrop chili is a wonderful decorative chili that you have almost certainly seen before as a table decoration. The plants have a bushy growth form, reaching about 60 cm in height and producing a variety of upright, triangular fruits that ripen from light green to yellow, then purple and finally red.

Thanks to its many differently colored fruits at different stages of maturity, the Tennessee Teardrop is a beautiful eye-catcher that also tastes great. Chillies can be eaten fresh, frozen, pickled or used in cooking.

The compact plants with their beautiful fruits can be used to great effect as ornaments, which is why they are often found in garden centers or hardware stores. However, caution is recommended as such plants may have been heavily sprayed.
