Harvest early when the fruit is about 20 cm long and the flower is still on the squash. Thrives in sun to partial shade in a sheltered location in porous, well-drained, humus- and nutrient-rich soil. Requires plenty of water. Keep the soil moist after sowing until germination has started.
IMPORTANT: If the fruit tastes bitter, do not eat it!
