Eggplant is a heat-loving plant that belongs to the same family as tomatoes and peppers. Produces small, semi-circular, black and shiny fruits weighing about 50-180 g. Use boiled, fried or grilled. Best grown in greenhouses or outdoors from May in very sheltered locations in full sun in nutritious, well-drained soil. Preferably planted in black plant film (cut a cross and plant in this).
